graduation finished!!!

This is a card I made for #2's teacher, she is getting married at the end of the week & last week the kids threw her a "bridal shower" in class. I used all scrap I had, so I think it turned out okay. I am not sure why the glare looks like there is snot all over the bride, but there's not! I swear!

Mother's Day cards, I got the inspiration from the cricut.com messageboard

Close up of card, I used versamark to make the watermark flowers on the plain cardstock--it needed a little jazzing up!

Shelby's graduation board--it's going to be posted at her party.

Close up of all her activity pictures--I framed the top & bottom of the rows of pictures with buttons.

Close up of her senior pics

All her school pics (except the senior yr) were grouped like this-- I used my tab stamp to label the pictures with the grades

That's all I have for now-- I am in the midst of making High School Musical tote bags for #2's party, she is having a pretend sleepover & these will be goody bags (they are pretty cute so far). I have no pattern, so it's taking a little long while I figure it all out.

Have a good week!

graduation stuff done (well almost)

Quick post (having people over for a BBQ in an hour!) But I finished 2 of the 3 projects I am working on for Shelby's graduation in June.

So, word books are all the rage in scrapbooking right now. I had been wanting to make one for awhile & Shelby's graduation was the perfect excuse. I used the my friend Jen's cricut expression, since mine is too small. Using the design studio software, I welded together the letters with a rectangle, that would be the page.

I don't know if you can tell by the pictures, but the edges of the page are the outline of the letter. I ran into some design flaws, having made some of the rectangles too small. But with more chipboard, lots of glue & black cardstock, I was able to fix it without having to start over!

I am not going to take a picture of every page, but I think you get the idea of the book. I did want to show how pictures (or journaling, or autographs) could fit in the book. Now that I know how to do it- I can't wait to make another one!

This is the guest book. Not too exciting, I used Around the Block's Love My School & Chalkboard papers. I wanted a little more dimension, so I lined the one side with buttons from Creative Cafe.

That's all I have for now. I have a few cards, the last part of the graduation trifecta & #2's birthday party invites. Yikes- I better get busy!!

More Moms Day...

This is a gift from the kids to our mothers. Lately, I have been trying to be more "green"-- driving less, using reusable grocery bags, that kind of thing. I wanted a bag that I could put in my purse & carry with me when I am out running errands.

On etsy.com, I found these bags made out of old tee shirts. I thought they were pretty cool & made some myself. I found them to be very handy-- strong & fit a TON of stuff because of the stretch of the tees.

I had this idea to make them for Mothers Day with the kids handprints. The handprints are supposed to be trees, to go with the whole "green" idea. Not exactly my vision--but I think they still turned out well.
On these, I added the decorative stitch around the openings & the ribbon accents on the handles. The ones I made for myself, I did none of these things and haven't had a problem unravelling.
Hopefully, I will have more to post later this weekend....
